Embark across the infamous stormy seas of the Drake Passage.   Zoom through icy waters in a zodiac while icebergs tower over you and seals and whales feed nearby.  Spend hours observing thousands of penguins up close and personal.  Embrace the magic of the ever-changing weather and light over the snowy mountains and breathtaking polar landscapes.  Join local photographer Chellie Hyre and share her awe-inspiring experience as she presents “Antarctica: Adventure at the End of the World” at the March 19 meeting of the Shenandoah Photographic Society.  The meeting will be held at 7 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church, 2077 North Frederick Pike, Winchester, VA (follow the driveway around to the left, the entrance to the meeting room is the last set of double doors).  All are welcome to attend.

Chellie is a veterinarian and pet photographer from Frederick County, Virginia.  She is the owner of Shutterdog Pet Photography, providing custom pet portraiture sessions and volunteering with local animal rescues and shelters to photograph adoptable animals.  In addition to pets, her portfolio includes nature, wildlife, landscape, travel, and still life photography, as well as digital art compositions.  Her images have been featured in several magazines and calendars and have achieved numerous awards.  She is halfway to accomplishing a personal goal of photographing on all seven continents, and will journey to continent #5 (Africa) this June.
